As defined in our Student Code of Conduct:  Bullying occurs when a student or group of students engages in written or verbal expression or physical conduct against another student and the behavior:
    • results in harm to the student or the student's property
    • places a student in fear of physical harm or of damage to the student's property, or
    • is so severe, persistent, or pervasive that it creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment

    -Bullying is prohibited by the district and could include hazing, threats, taunting, teasing, assault, demands for money, confinement, destruction of property, theft of valued possessions, name calling, rumor-spreading, and ostracism.  In some cases, bullying can occur through electronic methods, called "cyberbullying".

    If a student believes that he/she has experienced bullying or has been a witness to bullying of another student, it is important for the student or parent to notify a teacher, counselor, principal or another district employee as soon as possible.  For this purpose, forms are available in the Elementary and Jr. High offices for anyone who may need to report a bullying incident.  It is important that all areas of these forms be completed accurately and completely in order for us to investigate the report appropriately.  The reporters name(s) will not be revealed in order to prohibit retaliation.  If you have any questions concerning district policy on bullying, please feel free to contact me.  My number is 254-835-4028.  Our number one priority is the safety and well being of our students here at Tolar.  Thank you for all you do to help us make that possible.
