I'm a graduate of Lindale High School in East Texas. At the time, Lindale wasn't much larger than Tolar, so I understand the complexities of small-town life! I attended college at the University of Texas and at Texas Tech, graduating from Tech in 1991. My high school English teacher offered me my first job in Lindale and I taught high school English there for 2 years before deciding I wanted to try city life. I worked for Grand Prairie ISD for eight years as a high school English teacher and as a middle school gifted and talented specialist. This small-town girl eventually decided she was finished with the big city and settled in Glen Rose for many years while teaching in Granbury and Weatherford. In the 28 years since I began teaching, I've taught all grade levels of English Language Arts-- from 6th graders to seniors.  This is my sixth year in Tolar and I've enjoyed getting back to the common sense and simplicity that only a small school can offer. It feels like home! I look forward to meeting my new students and challenging each child to reach his or her personal best.
